What SEPERATES BY Storm from other submissions platforms?
Well, quite a bit - but here are the top three reasons:
1. By Storm was built with independent and emerging screenwriters in mind. This niche market is vast and underserved.
2. CLOUT. By Storm's unique ranking system, Clout, is completely transparent, which means writers know exactly how to move up the rankings. Also, at the end of every 12 month cycle, By Storm will offer a $10,000 screenplay option to the script with the most CLOUT.
3. By Storm's service fee is only 8% with no processing fees!

Do the Festivals have to contribute to the $10,000 Option?
Absolutely not. That money comes solely from By Storm, LLC.
We're a film festival with a screenwriting competent. are we still eligible to use by Storm?
For sure! This is another aspect that separates us from other submission platforms.
You say that all festivals on By storm provide feedback.
what if our festival doesn't provide feedback?
By Storm is committed to helping writers improve their craft and prepare their scripts for productions. We believe that feedback is an essential tool in pursuit of that effort. If your festival does not provide feedback, By Storm will assign its own readers, all of which are seasoned professionals. A $20 charge will be assessed to the submission fee (which will be retained by By Storm).
if we don't provide feedback, may we direct the type of feedback that by storm provides?
Absolutely! Your Festival Director may provide guidance and suggestions. Any feedback that does not meet the criteria of your festival or the entrants will be redone until it's right.
it says that the site is in beta. how long does that last?
The site will remain in beta until May of 2026, at the earliest. We are currently in the second phase festival recruitment process.
if we are mid-season, is it possible for our festival to still register with by storm?
Yes!
may we list on other platforms, or do we have to be exclusive to by storm?
Yes. You may list on other submission platforms.
